Upcoming Events
There are a ton of ways to help out this semester, get involved, participate and have fun!
First up is Trick-Or-Eat. Who does not want to get all dressed up and relive their young youth while trick or treating?? This one has a twist... Instead of collecting candy, you will be collecting food donations, which will then be distributed to local organisations in need. We will take care of planning, mapping out your route, triaging food and distributing (Though helping hands are always welcome!). So, what are you waiting for? Get your friends together and register today!
Skip-A-Meal entails students with a meal plan donating a meal from their meal plan to a breakfast program at a local elementary school. Clear-the-Shelves allows students to donate their excess food to the local food bank before leaving at the end of the winter semester. In addition to these well established, national events, new programs that address local hunger in creative ways are always welcome and in the works!
Also keep your eyes peeled for information about Hunger Awareness Week that will be taking place in March, with lots of exciting and fun events to be a part of.
Help Meal Exchange at Acadia have another incredibly successful year of addressing hunger in Wolfville and the surrounding area!
