Welcome to Meal Exchange at Carleton!
Did you know that Ontario is the province assisting the largest share of food bank recipients?
Meal Exchange at Carleton is passionate about local hunger and works to raise food donations to alleviate the burden placed on these food banks. |

Trick or Eat! October 31, 2009
Only on one night a year do households expect their dinner hour to be interrupted in order to distribute free and edible items to all who ask. Trick or Eat puts a new spin on Halloween as costumed youth canvass their neighbourhoods collecting food for local social service agencies. At the same time, students raise awareness about local hunger and volunteer opportunities that allow their neighbours to get involved in addressing hunger.
Three hours and a costume is all that is required to make a huge difference in your community. As our most successful programme, Trick or Eat has…
• Involved over 8700 students in 47 communities across the nation.
• Raised a total of $775,000 worth of food, which is equivalent to 310,000 meals.
Last year, Trick or Eat participants at Carleton raised 2100 lbs of food for the Ottawa Food Bank. Join us this year as we try to break last year's total!
We will meet at 4:30 pm in Fenn Lounge in Residence for pizza and to hear our guest speaker, Ottawa Centre MP Paul Dewar, before heading out into the community. The event will end around 8:00 pm.
