Stomach This! 2.7 million Canadians are food insecure.
Food security: exists when everyone has access to sufficient and nutritious food to meet their daily needs for a healthy life
Do you think everyone in your community has access to healthy food?
Is food a right or a privilege?
Do you think about where your food comes from?
Want to work with other students and the community?
Stomach This! is a peer education workshop on hunger and food security in Canada. Youth are
trained to be workshop facilitators capable of educating their peers and
inspiring them to take action. Workshop participants make personal commitments
and, using our online platform, connect with one another to work on projects in
their community.
During our workshop you will learn:
* the difference between hunger & food security
* the impacts and barriers of food security
* how to map where the food in your community comes from
* to understand policy and how different levels of government are organized
* how to TAKE ACTION by changing your own food choices and mobilizing your community to make change
* how to deliver your OWN workshop
